Suzuki 1981 85hp: cannot remove prop shaft carrier

My prop shaft bearing carrier/housing has corroded between itself and the gearcase housing.
To the point that a 2" crack has developed from the rear of the gearcase going forward. It's been worsening for 18months...I was going to ignore it but the motor is going so well I really want to fix it.
My service manual does not mention a special tool to remove said carrier.. and even if it did I'm sure the corrosion would nullify such "hopeful" methods..

Does anyone have any "tricks" for removing corroded-in carriers?
I imagine heating the outer case to expand it might work, but if so how much heat is appropriate?
Likewise, are there any compounds that can reliably eat away said corrosion? Or is the external heat actually "dissolving/loosening the corrosion???

Thanks for any thoughts,
Regards,
David

IMHP with the crack there is not much reason to take it apart Unless you were going to move the parts to a good case
