I need to replace the powerhead of the port-side counter rotating outboard...Does the new head have to be from a counter rotating engine?
Or is the counter rotation take place in the lower unit??prop??

What makes a motor "Counter - Rotating ???

THANK S!

Thank you Rodbelt -
Any important tips when replacing powerheads?

By the way, we "think" the previous motor detonated because the previous owner did not have it properly grounded to the zinc...The engine was corroded like salt water was in it - and no cracks...We could tell because the zinc on the bad engine was like new ...and the good running engine zinc was corroded. another suzuki improperly grounded??? only 450 hours...

Thank you Rodbolt. Appreciated very much.

Last moter detonated by corrosion...(salt water loose in the engine) -another Suzuki improperly grounded??? (Zinc was in new condition on the bad engine...Good running engine zinc was corroded and needed replacing, who knows)

Thanks again!
