Picked up the above motor and have been reading for almost a year, but I think previous owner got into the oil inject system. He has the blocking diode on the pink wire between the starboard temp sensor and the electronics box with the rectifier, brain box, and control box. My questions is, according to the manuals, the diode appears to be between the port side temp sensor and the oil control box. Which is the appropriate location? Also, what is proper test to determine if diode is working as designed?

it goes on the port side, its a diode, test it as such.
most DVM´s have a diode test function that will apply a biasing voltage to the diode.
you should have continuity7voltage one way and not the other.
it depends on the polarity of the meter as to which meter lead is which.
