A rule of thumb for determining fuel consumption is to put a decimal point one position left of the horsepower rating. 50 HP = 5.0 gal/hr at wide open throttle. This is a ballpark figure and will vary greatly depending on boat type, weight, prop, etc. Half throttle figure is even more variable as some boats will be efficient at that throttle setting while others may not even plane at that setting.
