85 hp Yamaha year model from serial #?

Hi, a friend of mine just got a boat with an 85 yammy on it. The serial # is CV85ETLD, the number below it reads 688 L 412495. Any help is appreciated. <br />Thanks in advance.

the "D" in the model number means 1990
