2001 90 HP yamaha oil injection pump test

Reading the manual for this motor it says too ...Start engine run at 1500 rpm...fix oil pump level in full-throttle position...and measure the oil discharge from each port.<br /><br />Do they mean to disconnect the oil lines from the carbs when motor is running -- for 3 minutes?? Sounds like this would damage the engine...Or am I just reading this wrong?

run the engine on 50:1 gas mix while the oil line/s is disconnected. hook up the mixed gas first, drain your carbs and motor filter, then reprime with the mixed gas, THEN do the test.
