Interchange for 40 Yamaha Tiller

Trying to change my 1987 Yamaha 40 hp to tiller steering. Would the tiller from a 1991 30HP fit?Anyone know where I can find interchange info. Or maybe controls for my motor? Would gladly trade my remote controls.<br />Thanks,<br />Mike

i have a forty hp yamaha it was forward steer,i was told i would never find a tiller for my engine.they are to rare. so i bought a 60 hp tiller fitted fine.the year modle did not matter.
