I have a 03 DF140. When I get up on plane about 4K it runs maybe 10 seconds then dies and then kicks back up without touching the trottle, runs another 10 sec. and dies down again. I'm thinking fuel and may start with the fuel-water filter and work back. No alarms or lights on the gauge. Is the filter on the engine replaced as whole or can it be unscrewed and cleaned like the 2 strokes? I'm first time 4 stroke so I want to do it right. The time between shut down and kick back up again seems like just enough time for it to get enough gas to run again. Thanks.

Before start, pump your bulb up. Cycle your key two or three times to get fuel to the engine. Allow your engine to warm up before going to WOT. Good luck.
