I own a 2003 Yamaha F90 4-stroke and its service manual. I attempted to adjust the carburetor pickup timing. The procedure calls for aligning the mark on the accelerator cam with the center of the throttle roller. Well....my cam does not have a mark on it. Even without the mark, it appears to be obvious where to align it (according to the service manual picture). But, there's no way I could adjust the linkage to make it align in that fashion (when extending the linkage to some point, you cannot reconnect it due to interference with the cam). Of course, I don't remember how it was originally set (lesson to be learned here, right?). I searched the forum and couldn't find anyone experiencing this. I checked Yamaha's parts breakdown and it looks like they slightly modified the cam from 1999 to 2000 but still clearly show an alignment mark on it. The 2000 cam appears to be the same one on my 2003. Any suggestions or help on how to adjust it would be appreciated.
