87 Suzuki 40 HP outboard carb problems

I have been having a problem with the motor bogging down about half-throttle. It happens every now and then. Should I overhaul the carb. or try adjusting mixture?

Strip and rebuild the carb. They are easy as to clean out but pay special attention to the clearing out the two very small holes on the top of the barrel and their supply tubes. The hole nearest the engine meters the mixture at idle , the second , on the other side of the butterfly meters at low to mid throttle positions. Chances are that one is gummed up. Both of those are under the welch plug so that may have to come off if it wont come right.
