Yamaha 1997 200 SWS flush

Can I install a quick disconnect fitting on<br />the factory flush hose on the engine?<br /><br />Does cooling water flow through this hose or only flush water goes to head then out bottom?<br /><br />Do the thermostates have to be open to flush correctly using the engine flush hose.<br /><br />I am using Salt Away which works very well on the exterior boat/windows, how well does it work in the inside of the engine?<br /><br />Thanks a bunch!

Only flush water goes through the hose and the thermostats have to be open to flush correctly through the use of this hose. Can't answer on the Salt Away. Only salt here comes in a shaker.

Should the engine be running while flushing? <br />Or will thermostats stay open long enough to flush it? <br /><br />My boat is in the water, tilt up with leg out of water?<br /><br />The Salt Away works great on the outside...no waterspots even on windshield should not mater salt or fresh.
