1990 yamaha 250 cold start question

one of my 1990 saltwater series 250's has a very hard time starting.<br />it will kick, then kick again,then somewhat idle{possibly running on one or two cylinders}stall.kick again, idle very rough,sputturing and caughing for about ten seconds,,,,,,then all of sudden it runs beautiful?????<br />starts right up every time runs flawlessly. that is untill it gets cold again.<br />thanks for any sugestions<br />mike<br /><br />it's a carbed, oil injected 1990 250 S/S1 :confused:

need more info<br />run a spark test on engine when cold<br />got spark- yes or no<br />all cylinders-yes or know<br />right time- verify tdc,timer base free,sensor coils working correctly <br />then the only thing left on engine is fuel <br />those are nice engines and easy to work on if you have a service manual
