my bud gave me these #s to help figure out the info they contained<br /><br />model 30sf<br />code 6j8s<br /><br />hes wanting to try and rebuild carbs him self. any suggestions?

hello<br /> I think its about an 89 model.<br /> tell him to go for it.<br /> buy a manual. study it while eating the morning wheaties. study it while eliminating the wheaties read read read.<br /> then get out the wrenches.<br /> I had one brought to me the past week that someone had "rebuilt" the carbs. cost about 6 hours for me to repair them. they somehow managed to break off the tip of a pilot air screw in the carb. that was an interesting project. anyway its not voodoo so tell him to buy the kit buy a manual and change the fuel pump as well cause they dont last forever either.<br /> good luck and keep posting

thanx, he was quoted $190 for the job w/ 90day warr on parts & labor. which doesnt sound to bad to me.<br />he decided to take it in.<br />thanx
