I was out fishing a couple of weeks ago when I saw a fuel ball floating in about 1.5 feet of water. When I went over to pick it up, I realized there was a motor attached. It was a Yamaha 15hp two stroke(98 I think) and looked as though it had only been submersed for about a week. So I took it home cleaned it up and it runs. However, it appears that the serial number on the left of transom mount has been scratched off. I was wondering two things. First, is there another place on the motor to find the serial number? Second, does anyone know how I should report it so I can possibly sell it in the future?
