I just got a used mid 70's 28 hp Mariner (2 stroke)...these were made for the military and government agencies and were available until Yamaha started bringing outboards into the US in '84...I've heard it called a 28 special...also heard it uses the same parts as a 25 or 30 hp...I had one guy tell me the fuel mixture was 40 to 1 whole someone else told me 100 to 1...any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks: Tick

Tick -<br /><br />Lots and lots of posts on this subject. Unfortunately, your post was too vague to help. Engine specifics get more attention from the experts (I'm not one).<br /><br />Try a search on fuel mixture in "Outboard Engine Troubles & Questions"<br /><br />Good luck and Merry Christmas!
