86 suzuki 40 hp shifter plastic

The plastic part that connects the gear shifter shaft to the vertical steel rod, the part that actually moves that rod up and down for forward and reverse, as you rotate the gear shifter to forward and aft has broken into many pieces. <br /><br />What is it called and where can I find a new one?<br /><br />This is for an '86 Suzuki 40 hp outboard.
