I recently purchased a 1985 suzuki, 85 HP. You folks were kind enough to help me with a carb problem. Anyway, I was getting prepared to put the boat in for a final test run when I noticed the prop nut appeared to be loose. There was no lock washer installed and the nut does not seat on the shaft completely. It looks as if the bottom of the castellations on the nut ( which I see no reason for since the shaft is not drilled) only go even with the shaft. Could this be an incorrect prop or is this normal? If I need to replace the prop any suggestions as to size, pitch? It is on a 15' monarch bb. I have the clymer manual but see nothing as to this problem.
