I have an 89 Suzuki, manufactured under the name Cabrea, that runs well at idle and troll, but when giving it any more throttle, it stalls. I cleaned the carb and it has a fresh tank of gas. Any ideas?

Re: Suzuki stalling

Howdy, Will. Welcome to the best board on the net.

When you cleaned the carb, what did you do? Did you dismantle it and run wire or air through every passage, no matter how small?

Your symptoms are those of a plugged up high speed jet.

Less likely possibilities are other fuel starvation causes, such as a low float setting in the carb, plugged tank vent, air leak in hoses, bad primer bulb, plugged up fuel filter or failing fuel pump.

You can verify that it is a fuel problem by spraying a bit of fuel mix from a spray bottle into the carb throat when you open up the throttle. If she takes off for a moment it is a fuel problem.

Good luck.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)
