Yamaha fuel tank vent related (works opposite?)

I have a 1996 Yamaha 60hp outboard it will run for about 100yards full throttle then die pump bulb back up it fires right up runs another 100 yard and dies close the vent screw on top of tank it fires up and runs all day loosen the vent screw it runs 100 yards and dies where or what do I start with to resolve this

and checking for air leaks between tank and pump

Yeah fuel pump or drawing air between fuel tank and carbs.
