2012 Yamaha F150 TXR just received back from "unwinterizing" new water pump, thermostat, oils, etc. In Idle, there is a noise in the exhaust, the best I can describe is like the low rumble of a Harley motorcycle, or a very low bubbling sound. It is not very loud, but is definitely noticeable. My question is, if the Damper Seal was damaged when the LU was off, or simply worn out but not replaced, would that allow exhaust into the water pump area? Has anybody heard of this? The gauges read fine, no alarms, and the **** tube water is luke warm, so no obvious over-heating. I bought the motor new in 2012 on a Parker 21SE, and have had service, also kept in water, coastal NJ. currently has 750 hours. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

If it was ok before service then something happened in the shop. If the damper is missing exhaust could get into the water intake cavity. Might make a noise. Why not drop the LU and check? Interesting problem for sure.
