I've got a question regarding a motor I'm interested in purchasing, a 2014 50 HP Yahama 4 stroke...It was used at a local boat club on a 20 ft pontoon on the St Croix river in MN, so it racked up 1500 hours in 3 years. I asked the seller if the timing belt had been replaced per the manual (1000 hours) and he checked with the local club...they stated that belt replacement doesn't need to be done until year 5 which sounds like it could be BS, but I can see how maybe under high use that's light to moderate, this may be true.

Which lead to a couple other questions, will I need a new prop going from a pontoon to a 15ft fiberglass boat?

Are the high amount of hours a problem if regular maintenance was done? (my gut says it's probably no big deal)

How much should I subtract from value because of the high use?
