I just drove 2 hours to pick up this motor for $200 and was guaranteed to run. The old fuel line rotted out so I picked up an Atwood Universal Kit so I could test motor before purchase. So I get there and open kit and there's no connector for motor side. I'm wondering what connector I need? I have no idea the year, just that it's 15hp. Where can I find serial number? Also when I take old connector off tank to put new one on will I need to drain the fuel first or not? He said he would come down and give me my money back if it doesn't start.

Now I'm confused. According to brownspoint this is a 4 stroke 2000 model but I was assured it was gas/oil mix so 2 stroke???

Above info may be wrong, I thought my serial number fell into the 2000 4 strokes but I don't think it does and not finding it under the 2 strokes either.

Thank you, I'm all new to this. I didn't realize it covered all serial numbers that started with 30 in the second set of numbers. The guy I bought it from couldn't tell me much. He told me it was also 1 part oil to 6 gallons of gas but I'm going to make sure of that before I even start it. Again thank you.

I'm reading on internet to use 50:1 and that is 1 pint oil to 6 gallon of gas? What kind of oil is suppose to be used, just the small bottle that have 2 stoke wrote on them?

So I ordered the Sierra 18-8062 connector and paid for one day delivery. I just arrived home from work and went to set it up so I can finally start this thing and it won't lock onto the motor fitting. It fits except it won't lock. The slide operates smoothly but when I put it on fitting it won't slide all the way up. Is one of the connectors faulty or am I doing something wrong?

I ended up figuring it out, there was an o ring on the engine side from the old fuel line connector and if wouldn't allow me to push it all the way in. It looked like it was suppose to be there but I guess not. But now I have to wait another day to try and start it, the connector the screws in gas tank that came with the "universal" Atwood gas line is to big to screw in the original Suzuki tank so now I have to buy a different tank at Walmart.
