I currently have an 89 Pro V 150 that ate a piston. I was told that I cannot resleeve these blocks so I have opted to replace the block with a good used one. My question is, is there a difference in th Pro V blocks? I will be using crank, heads, carb setup, flywheel etc., from my old block.

I have found a non Pro V block of the same year. Will this work?

There is a difference between a non Pro V block and a Pro V block for 1989. Different part numbers mean there is some difference. Specific difference is unknown to me. More than likely the location of the intake/exhaust ports.
