I am in the process of taking these three carburetors apart for cleaning and rebuilding. I have run into a small ( or possibly major) problem: In each of the three carburetors, I cannot get the nozzle out of the main turret after removal of the main jet. The manual says it should fall out after inverting and shaking the unit....otherwise one must pick it out. For me nothing has worked..soaking, trying to pick out and more shaking. The main jet nozzle is the only carburetor part which is not available for this ancient Yamaha. My question is: How critical is it in the rebuilding process to remove the main jet nozzle? much appreciated. Peter

I would blow it clean with compressed air and call it good myself.
but wedging something into the carb throat to pry it outward might help
