Yahama 9.9 T9

I took off the waterpump on this outboard and replaced all the parts and gaskets. The gasket under the upper prop shaft seal/seals... seemed not the best, so I want to replace that gasket. How in the heck does that bearing housing with the silver pegs come off? I pry and it just moves side to side and will not budge.

As I figured the drive shaft has to be removed. The question is how that is done as it does not seem to pull out from the case. Do you have to take the gear case apart?

I haven't gone any deeper than that in one of those, somebody should be able to answer it though.
