yamaha 2000 smokes

yamaha 2000 smokes at start up alot and a little while running any suggestions. replaced o-ring at oil pump and has good compression \ I could use a little help if somebody knows anything, i just replaced both fuel pumps on my EFi 200 yamaha then this, it is very embarrassing.Help ! Two stroke engine using yamalube oil

Is it a two stroke or a four stroke?

Didn't see where you said that it was a two stroke! A two stroke engine should smoke a little in my opinion. All of my two stroke seadoo engines smoke a bit.

it smokes more than a little, also it did not do it when i bought it

make sure the oil linkage is still attached and adjusted properly.
If it comes off it will go full open.

also if you tilt the motor up a little after turning it off it may help keep oil on cylinder walls from getting by the rings into the combustion chamber & burning when 1st started
