I brought my boat in to have the impeller replaced because i thought the water flow from the peep hole seemed weak. I got it back and hooked up the ear muffs to it and i dont think it improved, but i dont know what its really supposed to look like. Theres water coming out at a few spots on this motor. From the exhaust at the prop, from a spot behind the prop, from a hole below the power head, and from the peep hole. I took a video of what it looks like at idle with the muffs seated as tight as possible. I dont want to ruin this new impeller that i just paid alot to have replaced and i especially dont want to overheat the motor.

Suzuki water systems generally don"t perform on muffs. Must be in the lake or deep in a barrel.

I wish i could say it was a freshwater motor lol. I'll dump it in tomorrow and report back. I had my hose on full blast going directly into the intake grate. I cant imagine it being better in the water but i hope your right!

So i got the boat in the water and the conditions dont change. Its just a weak little stream like in the video. It might actually be worse in the water than on the muffs. But a little more info on what was done to this motor
I tried changing the water pump myself when i first noticed this issue, but ended up breaking all the bolts and flat out destroying the lower half of the motor. I got a brand new old stock gearbox from suzuki, a good used driveshaft housing (some may call it the exhaust stack), and a new water pump kit from suzuki. I brought all of this to a local suzuki specialist and he didnt bat an eye and assembled everything for me. This whole thing must have come apart. If there was a blockage, the mechanic must have noticed it and would have said something. What else can cause this poor water flow from the "pee" hole?

A salt water motor could have salt deposits. The hose could be partially plugged. Good water is coming out of the prop and exhaust relief - Check the hose.

with the motor running on muff or in water blow some compressed air up the tell tail to see if that will open it up by moving blockage around

the hose end is probably accessable under the engine cowling. Inspect this short hose for kinks or flat spots, take it off and see if a better water stream jets out. If it's still the same then it may not be a blocked hose. The hose could kinked, squashed or loose where it attaches inside, it looks like you have water leaking out from under the cowling.

You can also take out the thermostat, and give the motor a good flush through from there, use a bottle brush if necessary.
It's also handy to use a torque wrench on all fasteners when screwing into aluminum to avoid damaging threads.

I think i finally have this sorted out. I shot compressed air into the pee hole with it running in the water and nasty brown water and some debri came out. It took quite a few tries to get it clean and now i finally have a strong stream coming out. The water seems pretty hot though.

where did the brown water and debri come out at?

is the TT water hotter than it normally is?

have you pulled and tested or replace the thermostat lately?

The debri came from the pee hole. The water coming from the pee hole seems hotter than usual. How buried is the thermostat? Ive never touched it. I would take a look but im not near the boat at the moment
