My 2009 Yamaha F60 4 stroke (very low hours) on a 20' SunChaser pontoon starts easily when cold but when I take a 10 minute run to Marina and turn it off to load passengers, etc. it is extremely hard to restart.

Yesterday it took me 15 tries and it barely started.

If I park it and go into city for errands and return it starts perfectly when cold.

What is the problem?

my guess is the enrichment system if it is a carb model

If injected maybe the fuel cooler is not working and boiling fuel out into the intake and enriching too much for the spark to light it off

99yam40 thank you for your long distance diagnosis. This is a 2009 F60 which is fuel injected.

I will do some further Google research to determine what needs to be done to clean it.

Watching a related video I see that I did not push the valve on top of the vapor collection system which explains why there was no gas that drained out after I opened the brass screw.
