My outboard does not start consistently on the first turn of the key. 99% Percent on the time it will start on the second turn of the key. I replaced the primer bulb but it still does the same thing. The motor runs great but I'm curious to know why it doesn't want to start on the first try. Any Ideas?

I do not think carberated motors start on 1st turn of key like fuel injected motors

That could be true, my old 2 -stroke motor (yamaha 50hp) started on first turn.

My old carbed 2 stroke enjoys a particular starting procedure.....cold start: pump bulb until hard, crank on starter about 3 seconds, stop, then crank her right up!....warm starts for the rest of the day are instantaneous.....
