Does the alarm sound when engine is in Neutral?

My F60 had an alarm sound today when I shifted into Neutral.

I have read elsewhere that an audible alarm in Neutral is Water Fuel sensor which frequently malfunctions.

Some suggest disconnecting it or replace.

I just cleaned both the Water Fuel Sensor Cup and cleaned fuel tank thoroughly and added fresh gas along with Stabil and Yamalube Ring Free.

Moved this to a new thread. It was posted in a 4 year old thread and not really sure it's related except for the sound of the alarm.

I guess that may depend on your year / exact model. On my (new to me ) 1989 775, while testing the alarms and lights, my alarm will sound , while in neutral, for over temp and low oil in engine tank.

My alarm sounds immediately on a cold start when in Neutral.

Alarm Stops when shifted to Forward or Reverse.

have you tried to disconnect it to prove that is what is causing the alarm?
then you can decide to replace or leave it

Exactly the plan in the next few days.

Thank you 99yam40.

I will post the results and a photo or two.

I have read elsewhere that there is a red washer/ring that is supposed to float on top of water.
