[h=2]Ran the boat 4 weeks ago and it ran fine. Started it up yesterday and after about 2 minutes of idling the engine cut out. I tried to crank the engine again and there were only faint clicks heard. No alarms went off and I failed to look and make sure the engine was peeing water. The prop turns freely by hand. I accidentally touched the starter when I was removing the engine cowling and it was really hot. Any idea what the problem could be? I am hoping the engine did not lock up on me! :-o
There were definitely no alarms prior to the engine cutting out. I did not check to see if I could turn the flywheel yet.

Any ideas on troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. I'm not the greatest mechanic but willing to try whatever I can to rule out a blown engine. I will bring my fluke next time I am out at the lake and check what I can regarding electrical.

Thanks!

see if it can be turned by hand, that will give some idea if the motor is locked up
