1988 yamaha 175 etlg charge problems

I am having charge problems with my 88 175 etlg. I ordered a new regulator/ rectifier but i noticed my current only has 3 wires connected. I have been unable to find a proper wiring diagram. Can anyone Help? There is no red wire run to my rectifier? There is a harness portion with three red wires that have barrel connectors next to it but not connected. Should they be?

Uploaded 3 pages of the service manual that may help. I did not see the actual wiring harness color codes. Note the fuse at the rectifier. Check boatinfo.no for an online version of the service manual.
