I have a 2005 75hp 4 cycle Yamaha. When I put it in reverse, the prop turns in reverse but the motor tilts up instead of pulling the boat backwards. Any idea as what is wrong?
I think you need to make sure the motor is down enough so it's locked down.
Do you have power tilt and trim?
If you have manual Tilt, there's a way to lock the motor down.
