2008 Suzuki DF 140 4 stroke, I am looking to purchase this motor

I have a 2003 19' seapro bay boat. It came with a yamaha 115 4 stroke, which I sold because it needed work. I had a 2.5 150 1996 merc on it for years now. It ran great but I tried to sell the boat to go larger and no one wanted it with the older 2 stroke on it. I may end up waiting a while to sell the boat even with a newer 4 stroke motor and do not want to just put anything on it. I want a good motor. I wanted an etec but prices are just too high. the guy is asking $4800 on this Suzuki with no prop or controls, I think that is a little high and it has been for sale for a while. I was going to offer him $3000-3500 for it.

Is this model a good one?
Will my yamaha key switch and harness work with it?
Anything that I should check before purchase?

I might should mention that boat shops around here stay backed up. I do not have the patience to even try to deal with them. So I am a do it myself kind of guy. I saw some diagnostic kits that include the cable and program for around $100 on ebay. I thought that I would order one of those. rather than pay a shop and wait 4 weeks.
