Hi my 2008 Yamaha f40bet has become more and more difficult to start. The engine also idles rough.
I changed the plugs and checked the fuel lines/pump. I am 99% Sure my carbs need cleaning and balancing.

So while doing this I figured it's a good time to swap the 2 jets in each carb that people talk about so I have ordered parts

I have also orders a vacum measuring tool.

Before I begin has anyone here done this and can anyone offer any advise.

Do I need an ultrasonic cleaner or can I clean it with a can of carb cleaner.

Many thanks

Not sure why yuou need new jets. Just did mine (86 150 w/ 3 carbs). An overnight soak in a gallon of carb cleaner shouldf do the trick. Then blow off parts and blow out jets with compressed air. Make sure yiou can see daylight through the removable jets. Do one carb at a time and keep close track lf small parts. I would recommmend replacing the gaskets, too..
