Swap 2014 Yamaha in place of 2006 mercury?

Are these compatible or would we have to get new controls?

We have an older (1985) pontoon with a 90hp 2014 Yamaha 4 stroke outboard, and there is a nice 2007 pontoon with a 2006 Mercury 90hp 4 stroke outboard on it...

Would rather have the newer motor, is this a compatible swap or would we need new controls?

Yamaha built the engine for Mercury so check to see if it's not a Yamaha under the hood.
