Have a 9.9 Yamaha 4 stroke high torque model number: FT9.9EXH the H makes it a 1987.
Symptoms: Stalls after a few (2-3 minutes of running).
Attempts so far: Cleaned the carburetor, took of the bowl and sprayed it with carb cleaner. Took our the main jet and cleaned it also very gently with a needle and carb cleaner. Replaced fuel filter. Motor runs after the carb cleaning then stalls out after 2-3 minutes. Figured it was getting dirty again so cleaned again. Ran for 2-3 minutes and died.
My Selco Manual arrived and I read up on BVI vacuum valves that control the carb choke and other functions, the manual lacks timing diagram and detailed vacuum diagram. Now on the search for this so I can figure out which BVI is stopping the motor by cutting off vacuum. I suspect the on on the carb itself.
To prove my theory I let the motor cool off then went and started it and the same symptom repeated itself.
