I'm about to take delivery of a new (to me) boat that has new 150's on it. After I've been looking now I see there has been issues with past 150's with the harmonic balancers.. I had seen that some said newer models they moved away from the nylon gears, that true?

Also I notices some "prop-chatter" on water test.. But when i water tested one boat I didn't notice, then on this boat it seemed to have it (at idle ~500/600 rpm). Should that be?? (both had SS props)

I liked my 225, was super reliable and great fuel economy but like anything else I'm sure others may not have been as fortunate as me with mine.

Thanks,
Fred

Balancer problem is a thing of the past on early models. If the dealer isn't using the new SDS props with the special hubs, you will get the chatter.
