Hi guys need some help. I have an 04 Caravelle 187. It has a 4.3 gxi-e with an sx-m 1.79. Just noticed on the underside of the cavitation plate there is a rectangular opening. What is this for or am I missing a cover off it. Tried to find a pic of an outdrive with same opening but couldn't. Thanks for any help

I keep the boat at the lake so I will take a pic of it this weekend.

If I remember correctly from older threads, that opening is by design and you are not missing anything.

Thanks for the info. Can I block them off to make the boat more quite at cruising speed?
