I bought a 1994 Wellcraft eclipse 21ft. After I bought it I realized it leaks in water. The mechanic is not sure if it's the main outdrive seal that's leaking or the water pump seal. I am wondering if anyone here has a way to test it without removing the engine. thanks for your help

Leaking at the main seal you pointed to in the last pic. Very rare!
I'd guess where the exhaust down tube connects to the transom.
There is an o-ring that can go and start leaking.

You need to put the boat in the water.
Get a light and mirror and start looking for the leak.

If it leaks from the bell housing then pulling the motor is next.

If it leaks at the down tube?
Try to tighten the bolts that are accessible.
NO? Then pull the motor.

Do some detective work and get back?????

I have a flex camera that's great for getting into tight places.

thanks guys. I will get on that once the weather gets better. It has been raining through out the entire memorial weekend. Really sucked, because a long beautiful weekend wasted.
