Shackle you jinxed me: I Just took off the SX drive of my new to me 1999 Four Winns 180 today to inspect the bellows and grease the u-joints. After I got it back on I went to drain the drive. The drain plug looked like new. Not good I'm thinking. So I get my big screw driver and proceed to scar up the screw. Okay now I went with my motorcycle hammer impact screw driver. Would not touch it. I then went and ground up a huge old screw driver to fit the screw perfectly. I also had a 3/8 wrench on the shaft, and now I have a lot of tension on it. I had a feeling something bad was just about to happen, so I stopped. I got My Makita drill driver and the biggest impact slot driver I owned, and the propane torch. I heated for a bout 20-30 seconds, then used the impact to take the little SOB off. It worked. Surprisingly, the oil looked good. It did not look synthetic, so I finished changing the oil. I was able to take the vent screw out with my big ground screwdriver, and used it with a new o-ring on the bottom. I don't know why someone would tighten them so tight. They have an o-ring. I wonder if coating the o-ring with oil would help next time? Dave-R
