I have a 2005 Volvo 5.0 Duoprop with a noisy PS pump. Fluid was low when I purchased her and adding fluid did not resolve a "growl" from the pump. It is still functioning, but at idle, I find the steering 'choppy'. Belt is tight, I am thinking the pump needs replacement. But where did the fluid go? I did not see any PS fluid in the bilge. Can the PS cooler leak and the oil go out with the cooling water?
