Part number 78 is a plug that you remove and install a zerk fitting in it's place.
It seems to be metric threads. Not pipe threads ,way more coarse than that.
Anyone know the threads ? I can't find a zerk that has the correct threads.
Should be easy (?)

Hi K2, I ran into the same issue, I wanted to replace the brass grease cup that came on my 82 Bayliner with a zerk, tried a 10 mm zerk and no go, so they are not metric threads either. What I did was use the bottom part of the brass grease fitting itself by threading a zerk directly into its base, after removing the top cap and tossing it, then grind away the cup sides on a bench grinder, next threaded the opening in the brass base to accept the zerk threads, cleaned it, and screwed it into the flywheel cover and it's good to go! If I remember correctly it was a 3/8 national fine thread tap. Good Luck.

I ended up drilling mine out and tapping it to 3/8" pipe, put in a 3/8' to 1/4" bushing and a 1/4" zerk.
We did figure out the original threads, want to say they were 10x1.5 , whatever it was I could not find a zerk with the same threads!
Thanks!
