wat 4cylinder inboard motors are compatible wit volvo drive stern

I have a 99wellcraft bayliner with a 4 cylinder volvo, motor is blown up, can i replace it wit a1978 470 mercusier , if not?? Is there other or any 4cylinder motor i can use that will hook up to the volvo drive stern i already have?

The 470 would not be my first choice. I'd be looking for a different engine, maybe a 153 chevy. What engine was in there that's blown?

No such thing as a Wellcraft Bayliner.
I think in 99 Wellcraft and Bayliner were using Mercruiser.
The 470 is a unique motor only made a few years and used it's own exhaust system and cooling.

The Volvo 4cyl. in 99 came with a Chevy block.
The Mercruiser and OMC used the same 4 cyl.
