Trim Sender Replacement

Hey guys,

I'm in the middle of changing out the bellows on a pair of 2000 5.7GS with SX drives. I want to change the trim sending units at the same time, but am finding it very difficult to access the retaining clip holding the wires in place, in the transom assembly in behind the engine.

Anyone have any tips to share?

Thanks!

Re: Trim Sender Replacement

I did mine last year and was able to remove the clip with a pair of bent needle nose pliers and a mirror. One tip that help was to tie a string (I used dental floss) around the clip when re installing it. That way when you drop it, you can get it back to try again.

Thanks... I will give that a try. Things are very tight back in behind the engines.

One question: Did you floss your teeth while you were doing it?... :)
