Volvo 280 tilt issue

I have a 1980ish Volvo 280 that while at speed the outdrive will start to tilt by itself. Also when putting into reverse it pops up at times. Has anyone ever had this issue before?.

Check you reverse tilt inhibitor. See attachment for adjustment.

Tilting by itself could be the switch, wiring, or a relay in the box on top of the tilt motor. Thump the switch and the relays. Flex the wiring. See if the motor runs.

When the drive starts to tilt up under speed, is it happening when you are at a constant speed, or slowing down?
