1996 volvo 5.7gl 2 bolt or 4 bolt main?

does anyone know if 1996 volvo 5.7gl engine block is 2 bolt or 4 bolt main?

also i am looking for block for this engine since the one i got is cracked and am also looking for hull 21+ft for this engine and cobra sx outdrive, preferrably in north western vermont or on the way from NYC To that area

Pretty sure she is a 2 bolt. 4 bolts went away some time ago.

Oh, I forgot to mention that if you find a 4-bolt though, it will fit with no issues. You would need a 70s 350 out of a boneyard. 4 bolt is kind of overkill for a small block though.

I build motors with 2 bolts all the time. Unless its some freaky assed hi performance build the stock Chevy 2 bolt is plenty strong

The bare blocks are the same, tho I you need to change out the freeze plugs to deal with raw water running through the block. Crankshaft and pistons will be the same, camshaft could(?) have a milder profile to decrease vacuum when you chop the throttle. You don't want to suck water back into the engine. I'd use marine engine gaskets all around.

thanks ! which plugs you would go with? i saw plugs that have a rubber piece sandwiched between two washers, will that be ok?

You should use whatever plugs were specified for the motor you're gonna use...

Naw, those a test plugs,... get a set of brass core plugs,...
