1. Trim guage jumpy 2.Temperature ?? 1995 Four Winns 302 Ford

Hello

1995 Four Winns 200 Horizon Volvo Penta Cobra sx 302 Ford Carb

This boat has for the most part always run about (by the guage ) 123 - 132, it has run 140 to148 one or two times and sometimes 130 to about 135. This is over the years and I still have the same thermostat. Dealer said not to worry long ago and was depend on water temp in the river.
I found a paper where
I had 140 guage..181 thermostat,184 goose neck, 64 water temp (used one of those pointing temp readers)
another time 3200 rpm, 150 guage, 179 top thermostat housing,184 goose neck . NOt sure what years I wrote these.
AUG 26 2008 122 at start, rest if ride 131 to 135 about 300rpm
I guess this is okay??

Second, last fall 2012, when I run the boat before I changed the oil at the dock, I noticed the trim guage did not move up or down in a smooth manner, but it sort of moved up or down sort of jerkily. The out drive moved up and down smooth. I HAVE NOT PUT THE BOAT IN YET this year, I have been feeling a bit off and I know it is mid July. Is this just the magnet thing sticky in the black circle on the side of the out drive? (see Photo)

UPDATE
Put in Yesterday Ran 150 by dash guage and was was 174 at gooseneck at thermostat into engine, I gave it a good run abour 4000 rpm all of a sudden temp dropped to125 on the guage and 167 on gooseneck if I remember.

Trim guage is still jumpy is the magnet thing just sticky, making guage jumpy? photosHPIM0897.jpgHPIM0898.jpgHPIM0895.jpg

I've got basically the same set-up as yours and sometimes the trim gauge is kind of eratic. If I raise or lower my tilt/trim with the key off, it will take a little time to get the proper trim heighth shown on the trim level indicator. Once it realizes where it is, it works pretty well though, if I remember correctly.

My temp runs about 180. When I bought the boat, the thermostat was stuck open, and it ran about 140. The first trip out this year, my drive belt for my raw water pump was slipping and it was running about 200.
