I have a perplexing problem with my Port side Volvo AQ205A sterndrive.
When turning the downstairs key, there is nothing, gauges don?t register and there is no attempt to start. A quick check reveals that it is receiving only 9V.
Ignition key works fine.
However same batteries register full 12v on starboard engine console. Very good batteries, can start the engines easily.
I disconnected the ancillaries that were running off the same circuit with no change.
However the engine will start no problems from the flybridge (which has full 12v.)
Even with the engine running, there is still only 9V at the console.
I have tried feeding the good supply across to the port key. With that there is a clicking from a relay near the motor, but still no effort to start.
I have tried tracing the power lead back to the source. As far as I can tell it is unbroken, but I'm not clear on where exactly it is connected to the motor.
