I have a 1995 Volvo Penta SX drive with a 3.0 GS on a 175 Glastron. I am familiar with impeller water pumps in the outdrive of outboard engines. I know that a good rule of thumb is to replace these when in doubt of...previous owner...previous use...or after a few years of use.
The schematics for the Volvo Penta SX show a raw water pump feeding a circulation water pump. Both pumps are mounted to the engine. I don't see an impeller type water pump in the outdrive on the schematics. Here are the links to the schematics I have.

My question: Is there an impeller water pump between the upper and lower unit of a Volvo Penta SX? Is there a water pump in the Volvo Penta SX that needs to be maintained?
